COVID-19
Due to the unprecedented impacts of the COVID-19 virus and the New Zealand wide Level 4 lockdown we were unable to serve form our central location.
In these unusual times The Serve had partnered with many other community organisations to keep on Serving. We have stringent preparation rules and delivery rules that are guided by the COVID-19 guidelines meaning our usual volunteer teams had been scaled down to a safe number to meet the requirements of Level 4 and had taken up a new role of ‘Driver’ for our nightly meals. Our team hung up their aprons in exchange for car keys, sneakers. and PPE.
Our team received official letters as Essential service providers and signed COVID-19 agreements, ensuring they have done training on how to follow the new processes.
We took this seriously and are continuing to take steps to be super cautious for the safety and the well being of the community.
